Grant supporting 14th Istanbul Biennial

SALTWATER: A Theory of Thought Forms
The Schwarz Foundation is keeping a close friendship and ongoing exchange with the Istanbul Biennial. In 2015 the Schwarz Foundation supported the 14th Istanbul Biennial with a grant.
14th Istanbul Biennial Saltwater: A Theory of Thought Forms has welcomed over 500.000 visitors in the course of two months. Bringing artists, curators and critics together with thinkers from across a range of scientific fields with the aim of producing new forms of knowledge, Speech Acts and Forms of Discourse has left behind a series of unique encounters.
Speech Acts and Forms of Discourse offers opportunities for public engagement with artists, scientists, curators, philosophers, and other cultural activists through round table discussions, seminars, oral presentations, conversations with the audience, group readings, guided tours, and programs for children. This research and learning initiative for intellectual exchange is an integral part of Saltwater: A Theory of Thought Forms which attempts to articulate and give voice to the uncertain knowledge enfolded in the artworks, films, documents, acts, and thought-forms apparent in the exhibition, rendering them both useful and inoperative.
