Vassilis Varvaresos

Vassilis Varvaresos' 2017–2018 season includes performances at the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, the Enescu Festival, the Festival des Arcs, as well as the Istanbul and Athens Festivals. His concerto appearances this season include Chopin's 2nd Piano Concerto with the Orchestre Régional de Normandie, Prokofiev's 4th Piano Concerto with the Saint Petersburg Chamber Orchestra, Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Freiburg Symphony Orchestra, and Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra.
Previous seasons marked Varvaresos’ debut recitals in New York's Carnegie Hall, Athens Concert Hall, Zurich's Tonhalle, and Vienna's Musikverein, while he is a regular performer at such prestigious venues as Paris' Salle Gaveau, and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw. After his debut recital at Carnegie's Zankel Hall, he was invited to play for former President Barack Obama; he was one of the two soloists to represent Greece at the China Olympics in 2008. Varvaresos is the laureate of the YCA Auditions, the Enescu Competition, and the Monte Carlo Piano Masters Competition. He is a graduate of the Juilliard School and CNSM of Paris.
Vassilis Varvaresos' new solo album V for Valseon Aparté Records was released in May 2018.
