Music on Samos

2012

Music flows across the sea – this was the motto of the 2012 Samos Young Artists Festival.

Various ensembles from Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean and the USA performed works from the classic and romantic eras as well as contemporary compositions from the homelands of the musicians. At the end of the festival, all of the performers appeared together and improvised on Greek folksongs and themes by selected composers who had anniversaries in 2012.

A musical encounter without borders – ideas, sounds and experiences "flowed" across the sea while simultaneously bringing artists from different cultures together on Samos.
